Awon Golding is one of London's most celebrated milliners — a maker of hats that stop rooms, turn heads, and, in Lady Gaga's words, make you feel like Isabella Blow.

Born in Hong Kong and shaped by English-Indian heritage, Awon brings a bold, multicultural perspective to one of fashion's oldest and most treasured crafts. Trained through traditional apprenticeships and holding a Distinction in Millinery from Kensington and Chelsea College, she is as committed to preserving the time-honoured techniques of the milliner's art as she is to pushing them somewhere new.

As Head Millinery Designer at Lock & Co. Hatters — the world's oldest hat shop — and in ongoing collaboration with haute couturier Robert Wun, she works at the very forefront of contemporary millinery. Her pieces have been worn by Catherine, Princess of Wales, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, Dita Von Teese, Kylie Minogue, and Lady Gaga, and have appeared at London Fashion Week and on BBC Two's Handmade in Britain.

Her collections span made-to-order special occasion hats, luxury bridal, and bespoke commissions — each piece handcrafted to the same exacting standard, whether it's destined for Royal Ascot, a wedding, or the pages of a magazine.

In 2018, Awon founded the Haute Dogs Calendar — an annual charity project born from her twin passions for millinery and animal welfare. Rescue dogs are photographed wearing couture hats, raising funds for their rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming worldwide. Since its inception, the project has raised over £140,000 and become one of the most joyful, unexpected corners of the fashion world.

Awon's work is rooted in craft, driven by curiosity, and unlike anyone else's.

Thank you for the killer hat Awon Golding. Nothing like a great hat to top off the day. I feel like Isabella Blow." - Lady Gaga
